If you are on this page right now you have taken a bold and brave step. A step towards a better life. A more peaceful and free life. I am glad you are here. I am so proud of you for taking this step for yourself or for someone you love.  There is no one size fits all counselor. They just don’t exist. You need to feel safe and connected to the person you share your struggles with. The reason for this page is for you to get to see a tiny glimpse into who I am and what I’m about as a counselor.

As a licensed mental health counselor, I believe that sometimes our present life gets the best of us.  You may be stumped with how exactly to move forward from the place you are in. I am passionate about sitting and processing those “stuck” places with you while being curious about how, perhaps, your story may be impacting your present.

Trauma has been a big part of my story which fuels my desire to walk alongside women who are seeking to be set free from the ramifications of trauma.

Ramifications of trauma may be (and certainly not limited to), addictions, anxiety, depression, isolation, relationship struggles, and parenting difficulties. I see trauma as when life varies from what is considered “normal.” This can range from experiencing divorce as a spouse (or as a child), to sexual or physical abuse, witnessing life-threatening events, chronic illness, or the impact of living with a mentally ill person.

I believe that present day struggles can sometimes be traced back to trauma we may have experienced early in our lives. Not always. But often. I am committed to walking alongside those who wish to walk in greater understanding and freedom.

Finding one’s voice is also a deep passion of mine. Working with women to regain their sense of self, to trust their instincts and grow in their ability to use their voice is a great delight for me. Learning to love myself was one of the most transformative things I have ever done.  It changed my life and I believe loving yourself can change yours! I believe self-awareness is power. It is the place from which true change begins. My desire is to help women grow their self awareness by exploring their story, both past and present, and in so doing begin to love themselves as the precious person they were created to be.

I have had many of my own struggles in life and counseling was a way that led me into a greater life of peace and freedom. This is why I do this work. I want to offer the same care that was offered to me. This is why I studied and continue to grow my craft, for you. I desire for you, dear one, to flourish and grow and to manage those things that overwhelm you in healthy ways.

I have been married to my husband Jeremy for 15 years. Our marriage has not been perfect but we truly have worked to become the couple we are today. My children are 14, 13, and 10. Zoe, Matt, and Ellery are beautiful human beings and I count it an honor to be their parent (an imperfect one at that)!

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time in good conversation with family and friends, cooking, painting, decorating, fashion, hiking, good literature and basking in the Florida sunshine near the ocean.

I look forward to walking with you. You are worth it. Can’t wait to meet you!
